Native to the Middle East, Scilla hyacinthoides (Hyacinth Squill) is a bulbous perennial boasting tall flower spikes bearing hundreds of small star-shaped violet-blue flowers adorned with white bracts. Blooming in early to mid-spring, they rise above a rosette of long, narrow, strap-shaped, green leaves. Very hardy and shade tolerant, Hyacinth Squill is a beautiful and reliable addition to the landscape, where it will happily multiply in optimum growing conditions. Excellent for naturalizing in borders, rockeries, wild gardens, woodland, and between shrubs and trees.
