Rhododendron ‘Ken Janeck’

With some of the prettiest flowers, Rhododendron ‘Ken Janeck’ is a broadleaf evergreen rhododendron that, in mid-spring, displays abundant clusters of about 13 to 17 soft pink trumpet-shaped flowers. Each richly colored bloom of this midseason rhododendron opens up from deep rose-pink buds to pale pink blossoms and gradually fades to white, the upper lobe being slightly spotted green. The dark green leaves are long, narrow, and slightly recurved, with a thick coating beneath.

• Grows into a compact, dense multi-stemmed, and mounding shrub, up to 3-4 ft. tall (90-120 cm) and 3-5 ft. wide (90-150 cm)

• A full sun or light shade lover, this plant is best grown in moist, acidic, humusy, well-drained soils. Plant shallowly. Protect from frost to prevent damage to flowers. Mulch annually with leaf mold to retain moisture, control weeds, and cool the soil.
• Perfect for beds and borders, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. Great as a flowering hedge or privacy screen too. Ideal for small gardens and containers!
• Removing spent flowers promotes new growth.
•  This shrub should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season’s flowers.
• All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
• Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
