Cypripedium x ventricosum (Lady’s Slipper Orchid) is a deciduous, hardy orchid noted for its showy deep pink flowers. Blooming in mid to late spring, the ravishing blossoms feature a white pouch heavily veined and speckled with deep pink and purple surrounded by purple-striped tepals. The sophisticated flowers are borne singly or in pairs, atop upright stems above the foliage of ovate, parallel-veined leaves. Cypripedium x ventricosum is an orchid hybrid that combines the European Cypripedium calceolus and the Siberian Cypripedium macranthos.
