Bush's Poppy Mallow, Callirhoe involucrata var. bushii, Callirhoe papaver var. bushii
Callirhoe bushii (Bush’s Poppy Mallow) is a showy herbaceous perennial boasting masses of brilliant magenta cup-shaped flowers from early to late summer. Poppy-like, the eye-catching upward-facing blossoms, up to 2.5 in. wide (6 cm), consist of five overlapping petals with a white spot at their base surrounding a prominent central column of stamens. They are borne singly atop partially erect and rambling stems. The leaves are palmately divided (hand-shaped) into 5 to 7 lobes. Callirhoe bushii provides a vibrant display in both formal garden areas and naturalized areas.
