Sisyrinchium angustifolium ‘Lucerne’ (Blue-Eyed Grass) is a clump-forming perennial noted for its tuft of narrow grass-like, dark green foliage which gives way to large, bright violet-blue, star-like flowers, 1 in. across (2.5 cm), adorned with yellow centers. Borne atop branched flowering stems, they bloom profusely in late spring and early summer. This is a charming little plant for accents along paths or walkways, in rockeries or naturalized in cottage gardens. One of the best selections for areas with hot, humid summers.
