Wood Sorrel, Oxalis inops, Oxalis dammeriana, Oxalis otaviensis
Oxalis depressa (Wood Sorrel) is a small tuberous perennial boasting widely funnel-shaped, bright rose-pink flowers with yellow hearts over a long season. Blooming from summer to fall, they are borne atop the handsome foliage of silvery green, clove-like leaves. Easy to cultivate and maintain, this plant often naturalizes well and will gently spread in the garden. Good choice for containers, along walkways or as a cheerful ground cover.
It is a member of the Oxalidaceae family (wood sorrel family), home to ornamental favorites like the star fruit, little tree plant, violet wood sorrel, redwood sorrel, silver shamrock, and the iconic good luck plant. Other notable members include the striking false shamrock, purple shamrock, and the eye-catching candy cane sorrel.
