Richly fragrant, Lonicera x heckrottii ‘Gold Flame’ (Honeysuckle) is a twining deciduous vine with large, 2 in. long (4 cm), tubular flowers of rare beauty. Flushed deep pink on the outside, they open to reveal orange-yellow throats. Produced profusely from early summer to fall, the highly scented flowers may give way to inedible red berries. Vigorous, this honeysuckle has a foliage of oval, blue-green leaves with contrasting reddish stems. It is considered a highly disease-resistant hybrid and one of the finest selections.
